Joe Miuccio is a twenty-year veteran of the New York post production industry. He began his career as an audio engineer and sound designer at one of the top post houses in the city where he worked on thousands of television commercials.

As well as being a re-recording mixer, Miuccio is also a composer. He has been a musician for over 25 years and has created sound design and original music for TV and radio commercials as well as documentaries and short films. He was a Clio finalist for sound design and original music in 1992, an AICP award winner for music composition in 1995, and he won a Radio Mercury award in 2006.

In 2004 he composed music for a PSA produced by the United Nations. The PSA was nominated for an Emmy Award.

Some of his current and past clients include: Xerox, Dr Pepper, Coke, Pepsi, Mercedes, Toyota, Visa and FedEx, just to name a few.

Joe currently creates and produces at Penny Lane Studios as Chief Engineer. He continues to record, mix and compose for clients such as Toyota, Panasonic, The History Channel and ESPN.

Mixer/Sound Designer

Dan Walsh's music background as a guitar and bass player in reggae and rock bands led him to pursue a career in the recording industry. His first foray into the world of audio recording and post production was in 2001 for New York City-based Tonic, where he worked on commercial mixes for BMW, L'Oreal and McDonald’s and high-profile long form projects such as "Crank: Made In America”, the highly acclaimed HBO series “America undercover” and the full-length feature film "A Tale of Two Pizzas".

After a stint as a music mixer at North Forty Music in 2005 where he worked on a variety of TV and radio projects, he later returned to Tonic where some of his long form credits included "Hidden Potential" for HGTV, "Seemore's Playhouse" for PBS, "Cash Cab", "28 Days in Rehab" & "Go Ahead, Make My Dinner" for Discovery and "Filmfakers" for AMC. His promo and commercial credits included spots for YES Network, Allstate, GMC, Diet Pepsi, Quilted Northern, TV Land & CBS 48hrs.

In 2008 Dan won the New York Emmy Award for Audio. The award-winning piece is a 1:45 spot entitled "Five Years of YES", promoting the network’s 5-year anniversary special. Walsh's mix and sound design highlights clips from the first five years of YES broadcasting, including some great moments in Yankee baseball.

Later that year Dan came on board at Penny Lane. Ever since he has put his special stamp on TV and radio spots, infomercials, cable promos, film teasers, ADR and animation vo recording. Among them are Toyota, Time Warner Cable, Verizon, Subway, Mazda, USMC, WE, TV Land, Turbo Jam, Rev Abs and America’s Got Talent.

Mixer/Sound Designer

Jon Friedner came to Penny Lane in 2006 after graduating from Boston University with a degree in Film and Television. Between Point A and Point B, he spent some time as a line cook for noted celebrity chef Todd English at his Charlestown restaurant, Olives. Jon draws from his experience in the kitchen while working as an engineer and says, "Some of the things that I love about mixing are the same things that I loved about working as a cook. I get to work in a fast-paced, creative and collaborative environment but, most importantly, every day brings a new set of challenges."

Since coming to Penny Lane, he has recorded such stars as Liev Schreiber and Kiefer Sutherland, and sound designed and mixed numerous TV and radio spots for USA Networks, TV Land, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, Verizon Wireless, Bank of New York Mellon, and Toyota, to name but a few.

When Jon's not in session, you may be able to find him sneaking out to the lounge to catch a Mets game, or quietly sobbing in the corner after they inevitably lose.

Junior Mixer

Michael Dwyer is a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Film and Television Production. In college he specialized in post-production and interned at Rumur, Inc. as an assistant editor. He has been an assistant at Penny Lane Studios since 2008.
